headlines.

Not sure if any of my readers are "Nashvillians" or not but my heart goes out to all of the people of Nashville just the same.

What an absolutely heartbreaking situation.

The news is just so daunting right now. We have it on in the office and everytime I look up, the images and headlines are more than disturbing and saddening.

"Officials Fear Worst as Waters Recede"

"Flooded Nashville Faces Long Recovery"

"Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills Mall are, for all intents Destroyed"

"500 Year Flood: Hard Lessons Learned"

"Gulf Oil Spill Imperils Fishing Industry"

"Gulf Oil Leak could Take up to 3 Months to Stop"

"Oil Spill Expected to Gravely Affect Economy"

etc. etc. etc...

No need to list any more.

I don't really feel as though the news is giving as much attention to the devastating events in Nashville as they deserve. Many things are going on in our Country right now but my gosh, they're saying this is quite possibly the worst flood in 500 years, up to 30 people have lost their lives and they're expecting the death toll to climb? This is insane.

Not meaning to be a "Debbie Downer" in this post but there's a lot of really devastating things occurring right here on our home soil, oceans and shores.

Praying for everyone who has been affected by these tragic events. Praying for people who have lost loved ones, their homes, possessions etc.

This is just awful.

I'm not the biggest advocate of being a "news junkie". I check it once a day as I do like to know what's going on in my world but am deterred by people who live lives of doom and gloom because they watch the news all day long. It just isn't worth it to me.

Staying informed is one thing, being obsessed is another.

However, my eyes are glued to the television right now. Between the devastating floods and wondering how this leak will be stopped and when and if the oil might reach our pure shores, I am solemn and prayerful.

There are so many bad things happening lately it seems like. I don't know if they always have this bad and I was just young and never paid attention to the news, but here lately it's horrific. I feel so bad for all the people's life that have been devastated!

The oil on p'cola breaks my heart. That is the place I think I'll always call home. :(
