Well today is my Friday! It's technically Thursday but thankfully tomorrow is the 4th of July and the office is not open :)
Last night Meagan and I went to the spin class at our gym. Wow, am I sore today. Fortunately it's a good kind of sore. That class is so intense but you definitely get a good workout in taking it. So, last night after spin I decided to go to wal mart and pick up some little necessities and I'm like on this whole health kick thing or whatever and I just wanted to buy tons of fresh fruit and vegetables. Holy cow, it has gotten SO expensive! Grapes were like 3 dollars a lb and fresh cherries were $6.88 a lb!!! What??!! Yeah I'd say our economy totally sucks right now, I mean who can afford to even eat healthy? I was craving avocados and I sware I stood in front of the bin for a good 10 min before deciding which two I wanted, I've come to the conclusion that I am in fact one of the most indecisive people ever. I mean who takes 10 min to pick out avocados? Too bad for me, I totally picked two that were no where near ripe enough to eat and when I got home and began to open it up to make my guacamole it was no where near ready to be cut into...what a waste :( I knew better though.
Alright enough about healthy food and working out, you'd think i was actually IN SHAPE..ha! I'm definitely inspired and motivated to get on the right track!
So, tomorrow is the 4th of July! It has always been one of my favorite holidays. Barbeques, family, summertime, good food and fireworks make it all so spectacular! Not to mention my favorite subject in school was always history and the fact that it is Independence day, the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776 makes it all the more wonderful. It is our nation’s birthday, our celebration of freedom. I often say that our forefathers and the godly men who took part in commemorating this document representing independence for our country would roll over in their graves if they were to see what we have tolerated in our country and how far it has come from the biblical principals it was founded upon. Our country has a rich heritage-one we have neglected, one we have rewritten and one we have altered to fit our beliefs. It's saddening. However, I still love my country and I pray that God does not withhold His hand from us though we've pushed Him so far away.
Paul Harvey prayed this prayer on the air. This guy sure has a good view of what is happening to this country. Read on...
'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen
'Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!

Have a wonderful 4th!
Wow.. that prayer was really powerful! I hadn't ever heard it before.
I'm praying for our Nation too. It's just changed SO much in the last even decade!! It's really sad too
:(
Hey about the fruits & veggies costing an arm and a leg, try being a vegetarian!!! I spend more then my meat-eating husband does haha. I bought like 4-5 fuji apples and it cost me nearly 6 bucks recently! :P
Regarding the economy......PREACH IT! I've been trying to eat healthy with the baby coming, and oh my goodness....nearly impossible if you're even remotely price conscious. I used to love going to the grocery store (weird, I know) but I hate it now because it stresses me out so bad.
That was a powerful prayer. I wish more of the people on our airwaves had that way of thinking.
Oh, and I don't live in Pensacola, unfortunately. I live in Augusta, Georgia. Becca's from Maryland and is traveling south for vacation - starting in Pensacola.
Yeah, this Economy is in a VERY sucky position!
Try Feeding 3 boys and a husband healthy in this economy... NOT fun!
They make it hard for people to eat just basic food, but even HARDER for those of us trying to eat healthy!
Ive been trying to buy Organic fed meats and stuff, and its CRAZY!!
Even getting vitamins and using herbs is soo exspensive!..
Its sucks that I cant get my "medical insurance" to get low cost vitimins and herbs, but my insurance will pay for most crap medicines!..
Best advice, is keep watching your grocery store circulars, and then stock up!
